During a 25 year television career, Maggie has worked on a wide range of many, varied and small to large scale productions, latterly as a Location Manager and Production Manager. She ran the Bath Film Office from 1999 to 2008, facilitating over 800 productions filming in the city's historic streets and locations, ranging from simple documentaries and shorts, to major features such as Vanity Fair and The Duchess.
As a result of her experience, in 2003, she set up an ongoing training programme for local authorities wishing to deliver a film-friendly service to film-makers, in association with the regional screen agency South West Screen.
Maggie now offers masterclasses in location management, facilitating a wide range of delegates from industry members to production companies from overseas, and from screen agencies to media students. The focus is on the practicalities of finding and managing location shoots, with an emphasis on filming in streets and public places.
These locations can present the most challenges to achieving a smooth running shoot, and apply equally to simple documentaries and short films as to complex period dramas. Our training is designed to identify and minimise these challenges and risks - and reduce the stress levels on set!
