You might be a Producer, Assistant Producer, a Student or perhaps a Journalist. Whatever your role you will have a common goal:
To learn how to shoot your own sequences
To improve your existing camera and filming skills
To benefit from the guidance of a leading Director of Photography
We like to make our workshops as inclusive as possible. Before attending you are welcome to discuss or send material to Jeremy for him to talk through with you, or view, prior to your workshop.
In every workshop we use DVD’s of films that Jeremy has shot which in addition to practical work with camera, and where applicable lights, acts as prime training material ideal for illustrating topics within the day’s Camera Craft Workshop.
For course outlines, click on one of the workshops below (Remember - all of our workshops are also available in 'Bespoke' format - where you decide the content).
Foundation Camera Training Workshop
Intermediate Camera Training Workshop
Advanced Camera Training Workshop
Jeremy says:
"The uniqueness and variety of the camera training workshops I have run really cannot be underestimated. The fact that delegates, who have discussed beforehand with me their topics, areas of interest and concerns; then can attend a camera craft workshop and leave with their questions answered, brings me enormous satisfaction. To them, I hope, they take the knowledge I impart, out on to location and put their fresh ideas into action.
The reasons for attending a workshop, in the first instant, make it an exciting challenge for me to tailor an itinerary accordingly. Also the ability for me to link an experience or situation of my own, to a scenario which delegates themselves have encountered, provides me with the ideal tool of training via experience. There can be no better way of learning. Myself and my associates have been there, experienced it. We pass that directly back to our delegates.
For example, I show correct posture whilst filming observational, and at the same time how to be in the right place at the right time when everyone is talking at once. I show how to light an interview, at the same time balance the exposure with a window because you want the view outside as well. And I can show how you get the confidence of a contributor, whilst at the same time dealing with the sun going in and out, and without even thinking about it, you are changing stop instinctively.
I was very lucky to be trained by the BBC over 20 years ago. Within the last 2 years I have had colleagues on location asking me how I learnt my techniques, and where can they learn similar shooting skills? My camera training workshops now answer those questions; I bring 25 years worth of experience from location to a workshop. I have been called a Teacher, Trainer, Shooter, Tutor. Like all my associates, on location one day, training in the workshop the next"

Bespoke Workshop Attendee
“I found this course entirely inclusive and incisive. The attentive care that Jeremy took to make sure all I wanted to know and learn about regarding self shooting was quite exceptional. All the time I felt I was being mentored by an individual at the top of his craft and profession. Jeremy is articulate and a great communicator: open to questioning at all times but never leaving you in doubt as to the essentials one must master to be competent with a camera. His insight into current practice in television broadcasting is invaluable"
